Week 3: Day 18: Proclaim Him

THE PROCLAMATION

There were sheepherders camping in the neighborhood. They had set night watches over their sheep. Suddenly, God’s angel stood among them and God’s glory blazed around them. They were terrified. The angel said, “Don’t be afraid. I’m here to announce a great and joyful event that is meant for everybody, worldwide: A Savior has just been born in David’s town, a Savior who is Messiah and Master. This is what you’re to look for –  a baby wrapped in a blanket and lying in a manger.”

At once the angel was joined by a huge angelic choir singing God’s praises:

Glory to God in the heavenly heights,

Peace to all men and women on earth who please him.       Luke 2:11-14

Imagine with me for a minute what the shepherd’s experience would have been like?  They had been sitting in the dark of the night, perhaps with only the light of a flickering fire, tending to their flock, when suddenly the sky lit up like noontime! Add to that the sudden appearance of the angel. It was enough to scare anyone!

The angel becomes the very first evangelist! He proclaims to others the good news. Then, suddenly appearing with that angel is a whole skyful of heavenly host, praising God. The KING has been born! Behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all people. Just imagine the ruckus and praise from Heaven when the baby Jesus made it safely into the world, God with us—Emmanuel.

And the best part of the story … the very important moment in history when the angels and the whole company of heaven get to welcome this tiny miracle they’ve been anticipating for ages. The fulfillment of a promise long ago.

Glory be to God that Jesus was born — the perfect imprint of God’s nature, the Savior for all people.

You and I have a responsibility to be like the first Angel evangelist. Go out into the world and proclaim that Jesus has indeed been born, He is indeed alive, He indeed wants to call you His own. He indeed desires a relationship with you. And how He loves us!

“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!

Be an Angel – Go into your workplaces, your neighbourhoods, your family’s and PROCLAIM IT, not just for this season, but for all seasons.

JESUS the Babe born in a manger is here!
