Day 14: You Say…Do I believe

Lauren Daigle’s chart soaring song “You say” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sIaT8Jl2zpI has me thinking do you and I believe who God says we are?

Is our identity truly anchored in who Christ says I am or is it the sum by every high and every low?

Do we accept and welcome one another for who He says we are?

Are we willing to allow every failure and every victory be used for His glory?

Romans 15:7

Therefore, [continue to] accept and welcome one another, just as Christ has accepted and welcomed us to the glory of [our great] God.

The word is saturated with truth of who you and I are. Does your narrative align with His? Do you believe what God says or is there contrary narratives looping at the same time bringing confusion and doubt when it is time to show up?

Recently I was reminded of David in 1 Samuel 17 who confidently knowing who he was and who’s he was responded to a situation believing God. He had been prepared and positioned for this moment by our promise keeping God!

Vs 32 David said to Saul, “Let no one lose heart on account of this Philistine; your servant will go and fight him”

Saul basically tells David all the reasons in the natural he can’t pull off what he has so confidently stated but David is confident in who God is and how he has prepared him for this very moment. David reminds Saul of the faithfulness of God in the past and stands on believing God in this moment with a bold anchored trust in who God is.

Vs 37 the Lord who rescued me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will rescue me from the hand of this Philistine! David shows up right in the middle of this intense situation that most of us would have cowered under simple because he had decided before this event that God is with him, he is faithful and with God on his side nothing was impossible.

Where in your life is God inviting you to confidently show up?

Who is he saying you are in this season to prepare you for a particular moment to glorify God?

What narrative of yours needs to be replaced by God’s narrative?

Hebrews 10:35-36

So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded.

You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.
